Disraeli Street
In a full renovation of this beautiful early 1900’s Mt Eden villa, the owners called for a minimalist contemporary look. The main living room contained the kitchen, dining and fireplace/lounge, opening up to a north facing living area. Clutter was kept to a minimum by locating the scullery behind a hidden door, maintaining dimensional balance on the back wall. Integrated appliances were used to prevent adding another material to the mix. Pocket doors to the pantry, with a black coloured interior, keep the look and feel of the kitchen intact during use. Planked American Oak veneer was used in two contrasting colours with negative-detail handles for practicality and to maintain the minimalist feel.
